Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Pilates and how is it different from other types of exercise?

Pilates focuses on controlled movements, core strength, flexibility, and alignment. Unlike high-impact workouts, Pilates is gentle on the joints while still delivering full-body strength and mobility benefits. In Pilates practice we utilize bodyweight, resistance bands, reformer machines, and small props to create resistance. Movements are low-impact, precise, and often performed slowly with an emphasis on breathing and control. Pilates focuses on deep stabilizing muscles (core, pelvic floor, back stabilizers) while also working the whole body in integrated movements. Pilates is also frequently used for rehabilitation, correcting imbalances, and improving movement patterns.

Do I need to have prior experience with Pilates?

Not at all! Sessions are tailored to your fitness level, whether you’re a beginner or advanced. If you are new to Pilates, we do ask that you complete (2) 60 Minute Sessions prior to booking a 30 Minute Session.

How is private training different from group classes?

Private training provides one-on-one attention, customized programs, and adjustments specific to your goals, body, and any medical considerations.

How do I know which program is right for me?

During your consultation, we’ll assess your goals, health history, and movement patterns to create a program specifically for your needs. All NEW CLIENTS begin with a New Client Wellness Screening. Click here for more information.

Q: What should I wear to a session?

Comfortable, fitted workout clothing that allows you to move freely and for Jillian to assess your movement and alignment. Grip socks are recommended.

Do you only train women at your studio?
